Future Institute in collaboration with Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has developed a detailed development scheme for urban pond in Sawaswati Kunj to establish and demonstrate the principles and practices of preserving and managing urban water bodies sustainably. This project shall be developed by MCG under the initiative ‘Rejuvenation of Urban Ponds of Gurugram’ that seeks to rejuvenate, preserve and develop the existing water bodies in Gurugram as not merely as catalysts of environmental sustainability but also as active urban places of renewing and building sociocultural capital of Gurugram.

Out of 120 odd water bodies in Gurugram, 20 water bodies have the potential to be rejuvenated and developed as an integrated network of channelising and managing water crisis of Gurugram. The first pilot project to be developed  under the initiative in Basai (sector 9B, Gurugram) is already in progress.
